Praying

When I close my eyes, it surely rushes in, vividly, over the long emptiness

Falling endlessly, my shattered self

As if swallowed by a huge wave, when my heart fades in the darkness

What always wakes me is that touch, maybe

On my stiffened fingertips, on my reddened cheeks, I’m feeling the air

In my shrunken heart, I spread the wings that were hidden

Breath scattering on the wind, a free move as if dancing

Fly again, toward that sun, a new way that finally begins

At the edge of that always-precarious cliff, the light that brightly shines on me

Yeah I know it was you, in the warmth that tenderly patted and caressed me

A night no longer fearful, I open my covered eyes and face the world
